Family Engagement

Policy for Returning Emails and Scheduling Calls or Conferences

My policy is to maintain professional, respectful, and consistent communication with parents and families. I will respond to emails and messages within 24–48 business hours. If I need additional time to find information or address a concern, I will let the family know that I received their message and follow up as soon as possible.

My daily availability for communication will generally be before and after regular classroom hours, depending on the school schedule. I will make every effort to respond during planning time or other designated times when I am not directly supervising children. For phone calls and parent-teacher conferences, I will work with families to schedule a convenient time, such as before or after school, during planning periods, or through a virtual meeting when appropriate.

If a family has a concern that requires immediate attention, I will follow the school's procedures for urgent communication. I will also respect family privacy by discussing sensitive information through appropriate, confidential communication methods rather than in front of other families or children.

My goal is to make sure every family feels heard, respected, and comfortable communicating with me. By setting clear expectations and remaining flexible when possible, I can build trusting relationships with families and work together to support each child's learning and development.
